Sergio Garcia enjoyed a phenomenal 12 months on the global stage, winning three times on the European Tour, including an emotional first Major Championship at Augusta National in April. The 37 year old defeated his Ryder Cup team-mate Justin Rose in a play-off to become the third Spaniard to claim the famous Green Jacket, following in the footsteps of his compatriots Seve Ballesteros and José María Olazábal.

Wade Ormsby prevailed from a dramatic final day in Fanling to claim his first European Tour title at the UBS Hong Kong Open. The Australian entered the fourth round a shot behind SSP Chawrasia and when he turned in level-par 34, he was four behind his Indian rival. But Chawrasia then triple-bogeyed the ninth to bring a host of players back into contention and Ormsby held a two-shot lead as he stood on the 18th fairway at Hong Kong Golf Club.

Ireland’s Paul Dunne produced a spectacular finish to hold off four-time Major Champion Rory McIlroy, chipping in on the 72nd hole to win his maiden European Tour title by three shots in the British Masters supported by Sky Sports at Close House. Rory McIlroy piled the pressure on the 24 year old with five birdies in seven holes on the back nine to set the clubhouse target of 17 under par, adding a closing 63 to his third round 64.

Lucas Bjerregaard produced one of the best performances of his career to claim his maiden European Tour title at the Portugal Masters, closing out a 54-hole lead at the third time of asking. The Dane, who was 114th on the Race to Dubai Rankings and battling to save his card when he arrived at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course, fired eight birdies in a closing 65 to finish 20 under par and four clear of Scotland’s Marc Warren.

omain Wattel landed his first European Tour title after a dramatic finish at the KLM Open. The Frenchman, who had recorded 25 top-ten finishes in his previous 186 events without tasting victory, was in control for much of the final round but survived a late scare when he missed the green with his approach to the last. Porteous secures victory in Prague

Haydn Porteous overcame Lee Slattery in a thrilling final-day battle to win his second European Tour title at the D+D REAL Czech Masters. The South African recorded his first top ten of the season last week at the Made In Denmark and brought that form to Albatross Golf Resort, signing for a closing 69 to get to 13 under and beat Slattery by two shots.

Philp Golding fired a final round of 70, two under par, to win by one stroke from America’s Clark Dennis and Ireland’s Brendan McGovern. Golding started the day three under par, four strokes behind overnight leader Clark Dennis who birdied four of the first five holes to move seven strokes clear. But the Senior Tour rookie’s hard work was undone by a bogey and double bogey on the eighth and ninth holes.
